Picture Book - The Little Midnight Wanderer

“Why do I have to sleep at night?”
This question sparked the story of The Little Midnight Wanderer—a whimsical picture book I wrote and illustrated about a curious child’s nighttime adventure through a quiet, magical city. As she ventures out, she discovers how different the world becomes after dark, encountering hidden wonders most people sleep through.

I illustrated the entire book using Clip Studio Paint, focusing on soft, dreamlike visuals to evoke a sense of gentle wonder. I then laid out the pages in Adobe Illustrator, ensuring that the pacing and flow of the narrative worked well visually and rhythmically.

In addition to the book, I designed a themed cup sleeve as merchandise and created promotional posts to share the project on social media. This project was a personal exploration of storytelling, visual development, and independent publishing—and a reminder of how much magic can be found when we’re brave enough to wander off the beaten path.
